What we believe about...

God

There is one God, who is the eternally existent Creator of Heaven and Earth. He is manifested in three persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1-2, Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 7:14, 9:6, John 14:9, I Timothy 3:16, and I John 5:7).

Jesus Christ

The Lord Jesus Christ is fully God. He took on the flesh of a man and dwelt on the earth. He is sinlessly perfect and gave Himself as our substitute sacrifice by shedding His blood, dying on the cross, and rising from the dead, to pay for all sins (past, present and future) for all who believe on His name. (Acts 13:38-41, II Corinthians 5:12, Titus 2:14, Hebrews 2:9, 9:12-28, 10:10-13, I Peter 2:24, and I John 3:5).

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is the written record of God’s supernatural revelation of Himself to man; absolute in its authority, complete in its content and without error in its statements. (Psalms 89:34, John 10:35, Hebrews 6:18, and II Peter 3:16). We believe the Bible is preserved in the English language through the King James Bible.

Sin and Salvation

God is absolutely sovereign. In His sovereignty, He gave man a free will, to accept or reject the salvation that He has freely provided through Jesus Christ. It is God's will that all should be saved and that none should perish. God permits man's destiny to depend upon that individual's choice. (John 6:64-65, Acts 10:34, Romans 8:29-30, II Thessalonians 2:13, I Timothy 2:4, I Peter 1:2, and II Peter 3:9).

Each member of the human race is fallen, sinful and lost. Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for every person’s salvation. The instant a person receives the Lord Jesus as his Saviour, the Holy Spirit indwells the believer and that person is sealed until the day of Redemption. (John 3:7, Romans 2:23, 8:9, I Corinthians 6:19, Ephesians 1:13-14, and Titus 3:5).

Man is saved by grace through faith and nothing of man enters into his salvation; it is the free gift of God. Man's efforts, no matter how good or well-intended, either before or after salvation, have absolutely nothing to do with the saving of his soul. (Romans 3:22, 11:6, Ephesians 2:8-9, Galatians 2:16, Colossians 2:13 and Titus 3:5).

Eternal Security

Every truly born again child of God possesses eternal life which shall never end. Being justified by faith, sanctified by God and sealed by the Holy Spirit, he is safe and secure for all eternity and cannot lose his salvation. Through sin, a Christian can lose his fellowship, joy, power, testimony and rewards, and incur the Father's chastisement. His salvation, however, is a relationship that is eternal, being established by the new birth. The fellowship, in contrast, is dependent upon our obedience. (I Corinthians 3:11-17, 5:1-5, 11:30-32 and Hebrews 12:5-11).

Responsibilities of the Believer

A Christian should live righteously and maintain Godly works, not in any sense as a means of salvation, but as proper evidence and fruit of salvation. (Ephesians 2:10 and Titus 3:8).

It is every Christian’s duty and privilege to make clear God’s plan of salvation wherever and in whatever vocation he may be. (Matthew 29:19-20 and I Thessalonians 2:4).

The Local Church

We believe that the Church, which is the Body of Christ, is fulfilled only as a local Assembly. We do not believe in the “universal, invisible church” theory. We also believe that this local church is the espoused bride of Christ, is Baptist by doctrine, and is solely made up of born again and Scripturally baptized people. We believe in the perpetuity of the church, meaning that the establishment and continuance of God’s Baptist churches, is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures, beginning with the Church Jesus build during His earthly ministry. We believe in the autonomy of the local church free from any external authority or control.

The Last Days

We believe in the personal, pre-tribulational and premillenial return of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. The Lord’s pre-tribulational return will be in the air to retrieve His church at the rapture. His visible return will follow the seven year period of tribulation to set up His kingdom on the earth. (Isaiah 26:19-21, I Thessalonians 1:10, 5:9-11, II Thessalonians 2:1-8, Titus 2:13 and Revelation 3:10, 4:1).

We believe there will be a physical resurrection of the saved and of the lost. The saved unto eternal life in the presence of the Lord in Heaven; the lost unto eternal, conscious punishment in the Lake of Fire. (Daniel 12:2, Matthew 25:41, I Thessalonians 4:13-18 and Revelation 20:5-15)
